The Book of Ezekiel commences with the vision of the Celestial Chariot, representing the Divine Presence leaving the Temple. Although the prophet is in Babylon with the exile of Jeconiah, most of his prophecies are addressed to those remaining in the Holy Land, forewarning them of the impending destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple. We read of numerous prephecies that the prophet dramatizes before the people, indicating the certainty of their realization. We read of the prophet's dramatization of the seige of Jerusalem.
